About Cobourg

Cobourg is located on Lake Ontario, east of Toronto, along the 401 Highway.
Cobourg enjoys small town charm due to its Heritage Conservation District and well preserved downtown area. Cobourg is popular for Victoria Park Beach which is large with a beautiful sand waterfront area and features family picnics, splash pad, playground set, nearby outdoor pool and is walking distance to many restaurants downtown.

Cobourg is also famous for its yearly Waterfront Festival which attracts thousands of people and features local artisans, entertainment, food trucks, art shows, vendor markets and a midway on the pier.

Cobourg has a number of key services residents look for such as a large Hospital, Library, Transit System and  Via Rail Station,

Years ago Cobourg was a popular area for retirees, and while that is still true, in the last decade, many younger families have relocated to the area looking for a better quality of life and safer place to raise their children. Given the proximity to the GTA, many residents commute to GTA or Durham Region daily for work.

A large part of the population seek an active, healthy lifestyle and Cobourg is perfect for such enthusiasts. The Waterfront Trail is a scenic route from the east to west end of Cobourg.
There is a ton of community spirit here and Cobourg hosts some terrific events (see below).

On weekends stroll downtown and have breakfast at the Buttermilk Cafe. Go to the bakery and then stop at the Farmers Market to pick up some fresh produce or artisan cheese.

Visit the Art Gallery, take in a production at Victoria Hall, watch live music at Victoria Park or watch the sailboats heading out from the Marina for the Wednesday evening sailing race.

Cobourg is a vibrant town with many clubs, groups, events and things to do.
